ABOUT DEREK ANGLIN
During his senior year at Oconee County High School in Watkinsville, GA, Derek trusted in Christ for salvation and was gloriously saved. Within six months, he surrendered to preach the Gospel and pursue God’s call on his life; his plans and dreams of playing professional baseball quickly faded.
At the beginning of 2002, he moved to North Augusta, SC, where he attended Victory Baptist College under the leadership of Dr. Larry Brown. During his sophomore year, God began opening doors for Derek to travel, preach, and evangelize. After graduating, Derek relocated to Athens, GA, where he pastored a growing church plant for several years before stepping away from pastoral ministry for a season. During that transitional time, he served as the Director of Growth for a large retail corporation in Atlanta, which eventually led to him starting a successful retail business.
After attending Free Chapel in Gainesville, GA, under Pastor Jentezen Franklin, God began leading Derek back into ministry—this time to plant a church in Commerce, GA. He and his wife, Ashley, along with their four children, moved to Jackson County, GA, and in 2013 launched NewGrace in a local movie theater. The church quickly grew, reaching hundreds of people and outgrowing the location. After meeting in a nearby shopping center for several years, NewGrace moved into a permanent location and continues to experience tremendous growth, with plans for future expansion.
With the continued growth of the church and ongoing invitations to minister, Derek has made himself available for preaching and speaking engagements, including revivals, conferences, leadership and ministry consultation, and a variety of evangelistic opportunities. He has also had the privilege of serving on nonprofit and charity boards, as well as teaching at Refuge Bible College (formerly located in Demorest, GA). He currently serves as a Homiletics Instructor at Trinity Bible Institute in Lancaster, SC, founded by Dr. Rick Cope.
Derek has a strong passion for revival and a deep desire to see believers encouraged in the church. His dynamic preaching style and ability to connect with any audience are gifts God continues to use in a variety of settings, including church services, crusades, conferences, and classrooms.
